Kai Golowko started his career at ACTS GmbH & Co. KG (Magna) in Sailauf as a vehicle test engineer. Since 2005, he has been working at Bertrandt Ingenieurbüro GmbH in Gaimersheim (close to Ingolstadt) as a team leader of vehicle safety. In 2002, he moved to the position of department manager in vehicle safety in the field of active and passive safety. He became the head of CoC (Center of Competence) vehicle safety at Bertrandt Group. In 2017 he became head of vehicle safety in the field of active and passive safety within the Bertrandt Group, where he is responsible for sales, strategy, technology and training. He has done voluntary work for ADAC in the program called “Sicherim Auto” and in a project called “Mobile Retter e.V.”, an initiative against sudden cardiac death.
Andrea Monterastelli has more than 19 years of professional experience, including 15 in the automotive sensor business. He has spent three years leading the application engineering team for automotive magnetic sensors at the Infineon site of Villach, Austria. Previously, he was the technical leader of the first fully ISO26262 compliant product released by Infineon, driving the whole safety concept and analysis. Before joining Infineon in 2014, he held diverse positions such as principal engineer, project manager and engineering manager with a focus on inertial sensors in several companies. Andrea holds a master’s degree from the University of Pisa, Italy.
Dr. Eleonora Papadimitriou is assistant professor at the safety and security science section of the faculty of technology, policy and management at Delft University of Technology. She holds a civil/transportation engineering diploma from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), a master’s in transport from the Ecole des Ponts ParisTech, and a PhD in transport safety from NTUA. Her main expertise lies in transport safety, risk assessment and modelling, user behaviour with emphasis on vulnerable road users, infrastructure safety management and efficiency assessment in transport. She has more than 17 years of experience within international research projects of the European Commission and other international organisations (e.g. OECD/ITF, WHO, UNECE, CEDR, World Bank). She has written for 185 scientific publications (including 72 in peer-reviewed journals) that are widely cited worldwide. She is also member of the editorial board of IATSS Research Journal and the Journal of Advanced Transportation.
Marco Torti is an ADAS and autonomous driving technical specialist who got his master’s degree in computer science and automation in Pavia University (Italy). He has been working on ADAS technologies in Italy, Germany and the UK, both in research, pre-production and production environments. In addition to that he has substantial experience in working in premium and luxury OEMs and in Tier 1 supplier companies. Marco has been delivering an ADAS decision maker ECU inclusive of the perception and situational awareness software; a camera sensor with lane departure warning and vehicle detection software compliant to the EU commercial vehicles legislation; and a forward-looking radar for sport cars.
Head of PO, Transport & Logistic Andre Kuhn is a certified product management specialist for location-based services and has worked in frontend and backend product development as well as automotive projects at HERE Technologies and United Navigation for more than 12 years. Among other things he was responsible for building and releasing the first cross-brand car sensor based near real-time safety service HERE Hazard Warnings and headed the development and product management of the globally available navigation apps Nokia Navigation and HERE Drive/Drive+.
Walmir Peraro is a Brazilian engineer with MBA, driven by innovation and safety programs for the automotive OEMs for more than 25 years. He’s an experienced product development specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the automotive industry. Walmir is skilled in functional safety, technology innovation, product development, R&D, digital design and project coordination. He is a strong program and project management professional with an MBA (graduation in 2011) focussed in project management acquired at the Universidade Salvador, and previously graduated at Universidade Estadua Paulista UNESP, in Sao Paulo. Walmir was also a leadership industrial manager of three industrial plants, built from the ground up, and a co-author of two technical papers published by SAE and one proposed patent in the ANAQUA program in the USA.

Experienced leader with many years tracks record of covering areas within the Automotive, Avionics and Semi-conductor industries. At his disposal is deep and broad knowledge of E/E, System and Software engineering, his goal is to generate an efficient solution to enable production ready safety-critical system that is strategically positioned and translated into a product which meets customer expectations and marketing and sales demands. Highly specialized in IEC 61508, ISO 26262 functional safety engineering for various automotive safety-critical systems in areas of Autonomous Driving, Hybrid powertrain, ADAS, Active & Passive safety System etc. Authored patents and papers in SAE, VDA etc. technical forums.
Dr. Christophe Bastien is an associate professor at Coventry University with over 25 years of industrial and academic experience in the field of vehicle safety, evidenced by 21 patents, 23 publications and 82 citations. With an overall aim of developing forensic techniques for accurate accident reconstructions, his current research focusses on modelling of (automotive) human traumatology in collaboration with the British Police, the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire and the Road Safety Trust charity. A recent research output is an innovative FEA method, based on Peak Virtual Power (PVP) proven to precisely predict head trauma injuries when compared to post-mortem examinations. This is a first step in a numerical method to design safer automotive vehicles considering a human population.
Hélène Delvalle has 18 years of professional experience in both quality management (automotive SPICE®- IATF 16949) and functional safety (ISO 26262). She started her career as a quality engineer in a global electronics manufacturing site for telecom printed circuit boards prior to joining Delphi Technologies in 2004, when she became an ASPICE assessor then a functional safety manager for an ASIL C project in 2010. Since then she has led several projects with safety goals from ASIL A to C. She now has a dual competency as a competent ASPICE assessor and a functional safety manager. Her duties include the definition and implementation of the road maps for the system software quality and functional safety teams in Delphi Technologies for the engineering powertrain electronics and electrification group.
Nigel Hearne is a senior consultant at Pen Test Partners, where he specialises in red team testing with a particular interest in embedded hardware security. He is experienced in automotive and IoT security and actively contributes to working groups under AESIN (Automotive Engineering Systems Innovation Network) and the IoT Security Foundation. Nigel carries out penetration testing on behalf of automobile manufacturers and advises them on best practice, risk mitigation and cost reduction as part of these assessments. He has worked with clients spanning the FTSE 100 and has over 25 years’ experience of working in the cybersecurity industry.
François-Xavier Morgat is a senior engineer who graduated from Paris Tech Arts et Métiers, and since then has enjoyed regular training, most recently about software control algorithm with Warwick University and Cranfield University (UK). He has been employed at two major carmakers: PSA Peugeot Citroën and Jaguar Land Rover in different roles along V-cycle from vehicle and powertrain simulation, model creation and identification, software calibration, and software and component development including safety. Throughout his career, he has developed from scratch different tools to ease and improve system design and test (mainly based on Mathworks products). Nowadays, he’s involved in system engineering manager awareness and system business development in SEGULA Technologies, working as a toolchain architect.
Andrei Kholodnyi is principal technologist in the technology office and is responsible for thematic pathfinding of the new technologies in the automotive area, solution framing in the autonomous driving and mobile robotics. He has more than 10 years’ experience in automotive software development, including development of the first Linux-based IVI system for BMW, representing Wind River in various alliances and standardization bodies – GENIVI, FASTR, AUTOSAR and PICMG.
Andrei joined the company in 2005 and has held roles in various areas, including engineering, services and automotive. Prior to joining Wind River, he was an embedded software engineer at Motorola Computer Group and Force Computers and a research scientist working at various European laboratories, where he developed expertise in complex embedded control and data acquisition systems. He holds a master’s degree from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute.

With more than 10 years' experience in the functional safety product developments, she is committed to contribute to make our world a better and a safer one.
Hossam Yahia is the chief technical officer for embedded systems at Brightskies. He has 15-plus years of professional experience, most of them in automotive software development. Hossam previously worked as a functional safety expert in Valeo, where he led the deployment activities of ISO26262 in different product lines. Before that he led different automotive software development and testing activities, including AUTOSAR basic software and application development.
Dr. Ralf Cordes, born in 1959, is senior auditor for information security (ISO 27001), product manager and business development manager for information security at DNV GL - Business Assurance. With 35 years of professional experience in leading positions in the IT and telecom market, Ralf represents the opinion that data protection and information security does not need to be complicated. In his publications and lectures, he convinces his readers and his audience of his opinion. He lectures and publishes on the following topics: information security, auditing and certification according to ISO 27001 (management system standard for information security), TISAX, functional safety, EU data protection basic regulation (GDPR), IT security law, regulation for the determination of critical infrastructures (BSI-KritisV). In addition, he lectures at various universities, vocational and administrative academies on the subject of information security.
