Dirk Michels studied chemical engineering at Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld, Germany. Since September 2000, he has been a member of the scientific staff at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart. From 2006-14, he held various positions with responsibility in projects and personnel in various companies in the paint processing industry as well as in consulting. Since 2014, he has been working as a project manager in the department of coating systems and painting technology at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA). His major topics are the development and planning of innovative coating processes as well as the optimisation of existing coating plant concepts.
In 1987, he earned a degree at University of Aachen (RWTH) as Dipl. Ing. for process technologies. Between 1987 and 1996, Ullrich worked as sales engineer at EISENMANN, one of the world-leading companies in painting technologies. After that and until 2002 he was head of sales in Hager + Elsässer, a leading company in industrial water treatment. In 2003, Ullrich Möllmann joined Dürr Systems AG as key account manager for assembly systems, where from 2008 he performs as head of product management world-wide for EcoEMOS.
Dr. Johannes T. Grobe is currently acting as senior vice president sales and marketing in the division paint and final assembly systems at Dürr. Previously he had been acting in different functions at Bosch Rexroth, inter alia as a vice president sales industry sector management, key account management and application engineering for industrial manufacturing equipment. Dr. Grobe has broad experiences in leading product and technology development and innovation projects as well as production and manufacturing processes. In his last position, he was employed as a managing director of Bosch Rexroth in India. Dr. Johannes T. Grobe achieved his PhD in mechanical engineering in computer science at the University Aachen (RWTH Aachen) in 1998.
Ciaccio Gabriele, Dr., has a master’s degree in industrial chemistry. For several years, he has worked at IVECO (truck builder) as paint lab manager and now he is employed at Fiat Research Center as anticorrosion team responsible.
Peter is 51 years. Dipl. Ing. applied chemistry. Working in BASF for 20 years in production, development and service for e-coats. Right now, he is responsible for the lab e-coat customisation ASM.
Stefan Picker is currently the head of sales for Northern Europe and global KAM of Henkel. He has an education in biochemistry and business chemistry from Germany and the USA. Having started his career in the consumer adhesives business in product development and international marketing, he moved on to Henkel’s adhesive technologies strategy department in 2011. Afterwards, he held positions in sales and business development – for example as director of business development for Henkel’s automotive parts business in North America.
Ferhat Yayman has a BSc degree in chemical engineering at Istanbul Technical University, certificates in quality control, lean production, and ISO 9001&14001 internal auditor. He acts as the production chief, leading all branches of Honda Turkey paint departments: automotive body painting, plastic parts painting and spare parts painting operations. He specialises in automotive body and plastic parts paint quality standards, material change projects, budget management, Kaizen activities and managing new colour approval projects. During his 5 year-tenure at Honda, Ferhat led award-winning projects in Honda Europe Engineering Festival in 2015 and Honda EU-AFR-ASIA New Honda Circle in 2013. Ferhat is married and resides in Istanbul. He enjoys travelling, reading, and playing football.
Daniel Hartmann did his bachelor degree in business administration at the University of Mannheim. After finishing his Masters of Science Degree at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, he began his career at KPMG. Working in the consulting division, he gained significant experience in the field of strategy and operations doing projects with Fortune 500 companies and SMEs alike. In 2012, he joined Eisenmann as the assistant to the board of directors. He was responsible for strategic projects in the field of corporate strategy, marketing, and software. In 2015, he joined the newly formed Eisenmann Industrial Software Company (ENISCO) as the director of sales and marketing focusing on MES and production control systems.
Dr. Cecilia Groth is working as group manager and researcher within surface technology at Swerea IVF, a research company in Sweden. She is working mainly within the areas of cleanliness, pretreatment and painting, both wet paint and powder coating. Cecilia has worked as project leader and researcher for research projects in close collaboration with the industry since her start at Swerea, 5 years ago. Her work has a wide focus on substrates; metallic, plastic, and composites. After Cecilia got her PhD, she worked as a product developer of water-based paint stripping products mostly for the automotive industry. Cecilia Groth achieved her PhD in surface chemistry at Chalmers University of Technology in 2006.
Fredrik Edelvik has a PhD in scientific computing from Uppsala University in 2002. During 2003 - 2004, he was a post-doc at the Computational Electromagnetics lab at TU Darmstadt. In 2005, he joined the FraunhoferChalmers Centre, where he is currently vice director and department manager for computational engineering. The department has 18 employees and performs research on modelling, simulation and optimisation for virtual product and process development. In 2014, he founded the software company IPS IBOFlow AB as a spin-off from the research centre.
Ville Tuominen, Director (SBU Wet Metal Paints), Teknos Group, has an overall responsibility for the Group´s wet metal paint activities. This includes sales, product policy, and coordination of product development. Ville Tuominen has a wide experience in Teknos metal coatings business. He started in Teknos as a sales engineer in 1997. His job rotation has come through international key account manager to managing director of Teknos Coatings (Shanghai) Co. Ltd in 2010-2014 and then to the current position at Teknos Group in 2014.
Andrea Mocellin gained a bachelor with honours at the IED in Turin, he later attended the Royal College of Art in London graduating with a master’s degree in vehicle design. His experiences have included working as senior exterior designer at Alfa Romeo/Maserati; as creative designer for Pininfarina, Audi AG, GM forum, Cleto Munari; and as interior designer in London. Various projects he has worked on have been exhibited during the Beijing and Geneve Motor show, Ever in Monaco, MART in Rovereto and the London Transport museum. Since 2014 he joined Granstudio; a mobility design consultancy able to combine a deep automotive design experience with a multi-disciplinary approach to create cars, products and strategies that are successful within their future context.
Christian Hainz is a senior automotive analyst at EY based in Germany. Before this role, he was leading EY’s global automotive analyst team. Christian has over 10 years of experience with strategic projects and analyses in the automotive industry and in total over 15 years of experience in consulting and private equity/M&A. He has extensive experience in international commercial due diligence projects including both automotive manufacturers and suppliers. In addition, Christian is well-experienced in business plan validations, strategic market and company analyses, and strategy workshops. He also worked on several thought leadership publications and was speaker and chairman of various automotive conferences.
