Nóra Ní Fhlannagáin B.Sc. Hons RD M.Sc. has gained experience working as a performance nutritionist within a wide array of sports including Oxford University Rowing Clubs, Modern Pentathlon Ireland, Track Cycling Ireland, and Paralympics Ireland. For four years, Nóra has held a position as performance nutritionist with the Irish Rugby Football Union, with a particular focus on developing nutrition education tools for young rugby players as well as supporting the Women’s XV, Ireland Women’s 7’s, Ireland U20’s and high potential young rugby players across the country. Nóra has combined her clinical skills in dietetics, with additional specialist training in the low-FODMAP diet and her experience in sports nutrition to become an expert in gastrointestinal distress in athletes. Nóra currently holds a teaching position at the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology in a rapidly developing nutrition and sports science department.

Prof. James Morton, UK

James Morton is a leader in exercise metabolism and nutrition at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). As a researcher, he has received research awards from both the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences and the European College of Sport Sciences. James’ specific research interests focus on the molecular and cellular responses of human skeletal muscle to acute and chronic exercise and the impact of diet and nutrition on modulating these responses. To date, he has authored over 100 research publications in the fields of sports nutrition, physiology and metabolism as well as numerous books and book chapters on these topics. In addition to research, James also works in elite professional sport in both sports physiology and nutrition support roles. From 2010-2015, he was the performance nutritionist to Liverpool FC and also specialised in providing nutritional and conditioning support to a range of professional boxers, MMA athletes and jockeys. Since December 2014, James has acted as head of nutrition for Team Sky, leading the nutrition strategy for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Tour de France victories. He also directs nutrition-related research projects for the English Institute of Sport (EIS) and is director of World Class Knowledge for Science in Sport (SiS).

Rodrigo Abreu has been a sports nutritionist since 2002, when he started working in a Portuguese first league club. Since 2015, he has been responsible for meals and nutrition strategies of all Portuguese soccer teams (male and female, including futsal and beach soccer). He is currently finishing his PhD in clinical nutrition, with research projects regarding nutritional support in football.

Since March 2015, he has been working in the management of DHB as head of organisation national teams. Mr. Wildner is responsible for the planning, controlling, and monitoring of the national team’s budget. Furthermore, he is responsible for team management of the men’s national team, specifically the organisation of the training camps during the whole season.

Daniel Davey, IE

Daniel Davey is the senior performance nutritionist for the Dublin senior football team and Leinster Rugby. Daniel also works as a performance nutritionist with a host of elite athletes in a range of sports such as golf and athletics. He is the co-founder of the popular online nutrition platform ‘FoodFlicker’, which aims to help educate people about nutrition using simple meal ideas through photo and video. Daniel received his bachelor’s in science from University College Dublin and holds a master’s in nutrition, physical activity and public health from the University of Bristol. Daniel is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist (C.S.C.S) with the NSCA and has completed the national qualification in exercise and health studies. His primary focus is developing individualised nutrition strategies for achieving specific performance-related goals. He also believes that enhancing athletes’ understanding of appropriate nutrition practices is vitally important for long-term optimum health outside of sport. In order to achieve this, he believes in providing this information in an understandable, practical and enjoyable manner. Daniel is a committed athlete himself and has played Gaelic football at intercounty level for Sligo and won an All-Ireland club football medal in 2016 with Ballyboden St. Enda’s in Dublin. His own playing and training experience allows him to understand the practical implications of applying the science of sports nutrition to achieve peak physical condition and performance in sport.

Dr. Tom Hill, UK

Senior Lecturer in Nutrition

Newcastle University

Dr. Tom Hill is a senior lecturer in nutrition at the Human Nutrition Research Centre, Newcastle University. His research focuses on the role of dietary factors in musculoskeletal metabolism and his widely cited vitamin D research has informed recent national and international recommendations on vitamin D. Some of his current research supported by Innovate UK and industry is exploring the potential for vitamin D enriched foods to reduce vitamin D deficiency. Tom is a collaborator at the Medical Research Council/Arthritis Research UK funded Center for Integrated Research into Musculoskeletal Ageing (CIMA), a collaboration between the universities of Newcastle, Liverpool and Sheffield. He serves on the editorial board for a number of journals including the British Journal of Nutrition and Nutrition Research Reviews

Dominic Mueser, DE

Dominic Müser was active as a 100-meter sprinter for over 12 years before becoming a coach. He completed his degree in sports science in 2007 and began working at Germany’s National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) that same year, first in the doping control department and then in prevention. Since 2011, as head of the prevention department, he has been responsible for the development of the national prevention program Together Against Doping. In this time, DominicMüser and his department have organised several hundred events and over 70 projects aimed at sensitising and informing young athletes and promoting clean sport. As a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Education Committee and the Education Group of the Council of Europe and iNADO, Dominic Müser is involved in promoting clean sport at the international level.

Lena Kadlec is a sports scientist and sports nutritionist with a strong background in teaching students and consulting professional athletes from different sports at the German Sport University in Cologne and German Olympic Committee. Due to her passion, she specialises in nutrition for golf players. She has already presented her experience at the World Scientific Congress of Golf in Scotland. She is also part of the PGA of Germany.

Natalia is a graduate in human nutrition and dietetics from the University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR). She has a master’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Granada (UGR). She also has a university extension course in food and nutrition in childhood from the University of Barcelona. Natalia is currently pursuing a degree in psychology (UNED). She has a Certification in Nutritional Coaching® Level 1 and Level 2 by Nutrition Coaching®. She has done a university extension course in improvement in sports nutrition from the University of Barcelona. Natalia also earned an international certification in ISAK Level 1 Cineanthropometry from the University of País Vasco. Natalia’s experience as a nutritionist and dietitian is varied as she has had various experiences in different fields of nutrition: food industry, the clinical field, and in research. Sports nutrition is one of her specialties currently developed at Sánchez-Casal Academy where she is an official RDN who consults with all athletes about nutritional advice.

Mirjam Limmer, DE

Mirjam Limmer is a university lecturer of sports science at the German Sport University Cologne. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Institute of Sports Medicine and Sports Nutrition at Ruhr-University Bochum and is a mountain guide in training. She serves as division chief of mountain sports in education and research at the Institute of Outdoor Sports and Environmental Science at the GSUC. For her Ph.D., she is working on dietary recommendations for athletes at moderate to high altitudes. Limmer’s current research interests include acid-base disturbances in hypoxic conditions, ergogenic aids for anaerobic exercise performance at altitude, and alkalizing nutrients and its influence on anaerobic exercise performance in normoxic and hypoxic conditions.

Christian Bosse has over a decade of experience in coaching at different levels, from coaching more than 20 Olympians, 5 Olympic medalists, and 5 world champions, to working with young athletes. Christian has worked for different national and international governing bodies, including the Catalan Tennis Federation, the British Lawn Tennis Association, the International Tennis Federation, the Chinese Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Committee of the Netherlands, where he currently prepares athletes for the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020. Christian has helped organisations, such as the Hong Kong Tennis Association and professional football clubs in the Netherlands to implement a pathway for their athlete development; from the grassroots to the high-performance level. Christian studied sports science in Germany and Spain and is an accredited strength & conditioning coach by the UK Strength & Conditioning Association, a certified strength & conditioning coach by the National Strength & Conditioning Association and a master’s in international sport management.

As the performance nutritionist for Arsenal Football Club, Richard Allison's role is to enhance player health, performance and recovery through nutrition and training. Richard has previously worked in a sports medicine setting as well as for many teams and individual elite athletes. He is an expert in nutrition for injured athletes, and in his PhD thesis he studied the impact of vitamin D on athlete health and performance.

Dr. Stephen Bailey, UK

Stephen completed his PhD at the University of Exeter with his PhD research recognised through awards of 1st position in the 2010 European Colleague of Sport Science Young Investigator Award and the Tom Reilly Doctoral Dissertation of the Year Award from the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences in 2011. Stephen was appointed as a lecturer in exercise physiology at the University of Exeter before taking up his current role as a lecturer in sport and exercise nutrition at Loughborough University in 2016. Stephen’s principal area of interest and expertise surrounds nutritional interventions to enhance the synthesis and bioavailability of the multi-functional physiological signaling molecule, nitric oxide, and the impact of such interventions on cardiovascular health and exercise performance. He also has broader interests in oxidative metabolism and skeletal muscle fatigue. Stephen has published over 60 original research articles on these topics as well as several invited review articles and book chapters. He has delivered invited presentations at a number of international conferences and is currently on the journal editorial boards for Scientific Reports, BMC Sports Sciences, Medicine & Rehabilitation and Frontiers in Sport and Exercise Nutrition.

Dr. José María Villalón, ES

José María Villalón Alonso is a medical specialist in physical and sports education medicine and sports traumatology. He has extensive experience in prevention and treatment of injuries with high-performance athletes. He is an associate professor in the Medicine School of the San Pablo’s CEU University and head of medical services of the Atlético de Madrid Club. He has a master’s in sport traumatology, a master’s in biomedical and foot surgery, a master’s in senior management of health institutions and a master’s in the biomechanics of the locomotor system. He was awarded Sports’ Doctor of the Year (2009) and he was given a Silver Medal to the Sport Merit (Royal Order of the Sport Merit). He was an official doctor in the Olympic Games in Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992. He was a finally given an Honor Scholarship at Navarra University (2016).

Prof. Dr. med. Daniel König is the head of the Division of Nutrition at the Department of Sports Science. He is a consultant for internal medicine with specialization in cardiology, endocrinology, and diabetology as well as nutritional and preventive medicine. His research focus is on the effects of different nutrients with respect to static and functional properties of muscles, bones, and tendons. Moreover, he investigates the overall effects of nutrition on chronic diseases and the effects of lifestyle intervention on obesity and the metabolic syndrome.
