Dr. Julien Louis is reader in nutrition and exercise physiology at Liverpool John Moores University (Liverpool, UK). As part of his teaching and research duties, Julien is programme leader for the MSc in sport nutrition and supervises several PhD students in the UK and abroad. Julien is also an associate researcher at the French Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance (INSEP, Paris), and member of the editorial board of the European Journal of Sport Science, Journal of Sport Sciences, Frontiers in Sports and Active Living, PlosOne, and Nutrients. Julien's research focuses on nutrition, training, and recovery strategies for optimising sport performance, with an emphasis on elite sport. Julien is also interested in the effects of ageing on sport performance with masters athletes at the centre of his research. In parallel to his academic roles, Julien regularly works as a consultant nutritionist in elite sport. He is the current performance nutritionist of the AG2R-Citroën professional cycling team, and previous appointments include Liverpool Football Club, Lille Football Club, the French Football Federation, and many Olympic sports.

Professor Asker Jeukendrup is one of the world’s leading sports nutritionists and exercise physiologist who spent most of his career as a professor at the University of Birmingham (UK) (sports sciences). He was the global senior director of the Gatorade Sports Science Institute and is currently director of his own performance consulting business “Mysportscience”, and co-founder and CEO of a nutrition planning software business (fuelthecore. com) as well as a visiting professor at Loughborough University. Asker is also performance manager of nutrition for the Dutch Olympic team and head of performance nutrition for the Jumbo Visma pro cycling team. He is the teacher of the FC Barcelona advanced sports nutrition course and works with Red Bull Salzburg and PSV Eindhoven. In addition to this he has worked with Olympic and world champions, Tour de France cyclists, Champions league football teams and other elite athletes. In his academic career, Asker authored eight books and over 200 research papers and book chapters. His most recent best-selling textbook appeared in Spanish: Nutrición deportiva. Asker practices what he preaches and is competing in Ironman distance triathlons as well as other endurance events. António Pedro Mendes obtained his bachelor’s in nutritional sciences at the University of Porto and is currently pursuing a PhD in clinical and sports nutrition. He is a sports nutritionist at Futebol Clube do Porto, supporting the club’s different athletes and sports such as handball, basketball, roller hockey, swimming and football. He is also the head of nutrition of the sports and physical activity unit at Clínica do Dragão, Espregueira-Mendes Sports Centre – FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, supporting world-class athletes from combat sports to different gymnastic categories. He is a professor of sports nutrition at the health sciences department at the Polytechnic of Leiria and a lecturer in the sports nutrition field at national and international scientific conferences.
Lauren is an elite performance nutrition consultant with a track record of supporting Olympic and Paralympic champions. She worked at the English Institute of Sport for 7 years supporting a range of sports in the lead into the 2016, 2018 and 2021 Olympic, Paralympic and Winter Olympic Games. This included the last 5 years supporting British Cycling to achieve 12 Olympic and 21 Paralympic medals at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. In this role, Lauren was a speed and strength specialist nutritionist working with the sprint, BMX and paracycling disciplines. Lauren has also worked with GB Badminton, British Taekwondo, British Skeleton and British Swimming in this time with the EIS. Lauren is a registered Dietitian and SENr practitioner who completed her BSc human nutrition and dietetics at University of Dublin, Trinity College and MSc sport and exercise nutrition at Loughborough University. Lauren is currently embarking on her PhD in sport and exercise physiology, investigating nutrition in elite level rugby and behaviour change science with the Carnegie School of Sport at Leeds Beckett University. Lauren is also a keen sports person as a current member of the Irish Senior Women’s Rugby XV team, achieving 11 caps so far in her career and the Sale Sharks Women’s team competing in the Allianz Premier15s. Lauren has also represented Ireland in basketball underage.
As the performance nutritionist for Arsenal Football Club, Richard Allison's role is to enhance player health, performance and recovery through nutrition and training. Richard has previously worked in a sports medicine setting as well as for many teams and individual elite athletes. He is an expert in nutrition for injured athletes, and in his PhD thesis he studied the impact of vitamin D on athlete health and performance.
Leron Sarig is the director of performance nutrition for the San Francisco Giants. She previously consulted for the Giants with their minor league system in 2018 before taking a full-time position with the organisation at the start of the 2019 season. Prior to her position with the Giants, she spent five and a half years as a performance dietitian at EXOS, where she worked primarily with military special operations and assisted with preparing NFL prospects for the NFL combine. Leron has also consulted for the Arizona Coyotes (NHL) and assisted with nutrition integration for the Argentinian National Rugby Team during their preseason training camps in the United States. She also teaches online introductory nutrition courses on a part-time basis for Pensacola State College. Leron obtained her sports nutrition master’s degree from Florida State University and currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Rodrigo Abreu has been a sports nutritionist since 2002, when he started working in a Portuguese first league club. Since 2015, he has been responsible for meals and nutrition strategies of all Portuguese soccer teams (male and female, including futsal and beach soccer). He is currently finishing his PhD in clinical nutrition, with research projects regarding nutritional support in football.
Tom Clifford holds a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Science, an MSc in Sports Performance, and a PhD in Exercise and Health Nutrition. He is a Lecturer in Physiology and Nutrition a Loughborough University, where he researches the influence of nutrition and dietary components on health and exercise performance, with a particular focus on exercise recovery. Tom is also a British Association of Sports and Exercise Sciences Accredited Practitioner and Registered Sports and Exercise Nutritionist who has consulted for elite Rugby, rowing and soccer teams.
Benjamin Bath joined Wacker Chemie in May 2016. A food engineer specialised in nutrition, Benjamin has been working in the nutrition business for 15 years. He has expert knowledge in the nutraceutical industry through experiences at innovative botanical suppliers and full-service food supplement toll manufacturers. David LeMay is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has also a board certification in Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine. Additionally, he has completed a fellowship in Metabolic and Nutrition Medicine. Dr. LeMay is medical staff and performance consultant for multiple professional sports teams and professional boxers inducing world champions. He is part of the Tignum Performance Science and Innovation Board and is the medical director for the Breakfast Club program through the NFL Players Association Trust and EXOS. He also is on the advisory board for Task Force Dagger Foundation’s SOF Health Initiatives Program, SOF Missions and Racing for Heroes. He also is a scientific spokesperson for Solutex Corporation.
Philipp Merk is head of R&D at LOEWI with the mission to develop and utilize personalized nutrition to improve athletes and patients overall health and performance. His team of leading researchers in the personalized nutrition space puts emphasis on applying the latest research enabling evidence-based and personalized supplementation. He is a thought leader in personalized nutrition and advises the regional government on digital health-related topics.
