Dr Paul Bradley is the author of the unique book ‘Football Decoded’, which was released in 2020. He is currently a Football Science Consultant for elite teams, national governing bodies and technology companies. He typically conducts translational work within an elite football setting that bridges the gap between cutting edge research and professional practice (e.g. not just research for research sake but work that adds value to the applied setting). One area he has pioneered recently is the contextualisation of match and training data and he is currently working with many elite organisations in this regard. He has published >80 papers and has >5000 citations in the science & football area.
Chris Loxston is the manager of performance and game analysis at FIFA based in Zurich, Switzerland. The recent integration of advanced performance data analytics and video analysis into FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) analysis of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia was the first step forward in driving a new approach through supporting expert tournament observations with advanced performance data analytics. FIFA’s TSG is responsible for the observation of all FIFA tournaments, both junior and senior across the men’s and women’s game. This analysis is then used to support and drive coach and player education and development around the world.
Chris started his career in sports performance analysis at the English Institute of Sport, where he supported British teams at the world, European and commonwealth tournaments along with the qualification to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and 2012 London Olympic Games. Chris then moved to Asia, where he implemented his performance analysis skillset within football working with both domestic and international football teams. Finally, before starting at FIFA in 2018, he supported the International Olympic Committee (IOC) with bespoke data analytics around injury occurrence hurt analysis within Olympic and world amateur boxing.
Chris Barnes has many years of experience as a sports science practitioner within elite teams and organisations. A respected authority in the industry, Chris has previously managed sports science departments at GB Basketball, Middlesbrough FC, West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers. Chris currently operates as a consultant to Catapult as well as a number of elite sporting organisations, advising on a wide range of technical and strategic initiatives related to the application and development of sports science.
Throughout his career to date, Adam has developed a unique blend of high-performance coaching experience & attainment of the UEFA Professional Coaching License whilst developing a very prominent & active academic profile. Adam’s experience & knowledge in professional football has seen him undertake & progress from elite youth academy to senior International level throughout his career.
Working within & leading successful management & performance departments throughout domestic & European club campaigns (UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League), Adam has also been exposed to working abroad in a European club football setting as well as senior International level (European Championship & World Cup Qualification stages).
Dr. Harry Routledge is an experienced high performance practitioner having worked in multiple sports across the world. Harry has worked in the AFL at Port Adelaide FC in Australia, the EPL with Watford FC and most recently in the USA. Harry was the Head of Sport Science and Nutrition at Los Angeles FC in the MLS and was part of the club when LAFC won the Supporters Shield while breaking the MLS points record in season 2019.
Stephan Helm, Mag., Born in 1983, graduated in 2013 studying sports at the University of Vienna, where he specialized in football tactics. From July 2013 to December 2017 he was a TV analyst for the private broadcaster Sky Sport Austria and holds the UEFA-B license. He is also the author of the Football Handbook “Football Tactics: Correct Defensive Behavior in Space Coverage” published by Akademiker Verlag in 2016. As an active footballer he played in the 3rd Austrian League. Since January 2018, Stephan Helm is responsible as assistant coach for tactic analysis and video editing in the coaching staff of FK Austria Wien.
Ruben Peeters, MSc in Sports Science at the University of Leuven, is a data driven fitness coach at KRC Genk. Ruben is responsible for optimizing strength and conditioning, overseeing load monitoring and planning optimal training loads. One of Ruben’s main goals is to minimize the gap between the theory from the literature and practice.
In addition, he employs collected data to support the head coach in order to make informed decisions. Through these different approaches, Ruben aims to ensure that all his players continuously to strive to improve and push themselves to their limits.
Ian Coll is currently Head of Sports Science at PFC Ludogorets Razgrad in Bulgaria, where he has worked for the last 2 years establishing the Sports Science department within the Club.
His last role was Head of Sports Science at Celtic Football Club in Scotland, where he worked for 8 years from 2008 to 2016. At Celtic Ian progressed from Head of Sports Science at Youth to Head of Sports Science with the First Team, this experience, and career progression has gained him great experience within an elite club cross all age groups.
Ian has lectured at the University of the West of Scotland on Sports Science and Physiology in 2017/2018, and he has also presented Internationally on “Developing the Modern-Day Player,” “Match & Training Load” and “Youth Development.” Ian is currently researching into GPS training load and its effect on Tactical Periodisation.
Marco Fumagalli is a product of the Royal Belgium Football Association´s finest coaches school. He worked in different roles such as tactical analyst, assistant coach, and head of scouting in international clubs such as Galatasaray S.K., FC Internazionale Milano, Valencia CF, Genoa CFC, and ACF Fiorentina with a particular focus on both data and the tactical aspect of the game.
Born in 1990 football coach and analyst strongly focused on the cognitive and tactical aspects of the game. Actively coaching since 2009, till 2018 on a grassroots level. Master's degree graduated in 2016. Highly involved in coaching education in Poland via postgraduate studies at sports university and conferences.
The owner of Mindfootballness project which gathers many thousands of people on social media channels, providing educational videos, consultations and coaching sessions, as well as cooperation with professional clubs, players and organisations throughout the world. Also has experience in working for polish Ekstraklasa clubs.
At the age of 28, he was offered to manage AAUMa, the local university team. After that, he signed for AD Camacha as an assistant manager to work for Leonardo Jardim. Then he signed for Chaves, and José Barros was invited to become manager of AD Camacha.
He earned the 3rd division manager of the year trophy in 2009. He also got Camacha promoted to the 2nd division the same year. He also won a Madeira Cup defeating first league teams. In the following years, he worked in Portugal in the professional league, as manager (main coach) of Marítimo B and União da Madeira.
In 2016 he signed with AS Monaco and rejoined Leonardo Jardim. A recognition of the manager (Leonardo Jardim) for his work during these years. There he won the France Ligue 1 title and achieved the semi-finals UEFA Champions League. Understanding football was always in his mind.
An UEFA Pro License coach with skills in tactics analysis and leadership. In all his career, he never stopped to innovate and show knowledge in the tactical approach.
Tom currently works as Lead Sports Scientist at Arsenal Football Club. He has held this role since July 2017 and was previously at Aston Villa Football Club for 6 years. As well as holding a BSc and an MSc in Sports Science, Tom has done extensive work on the relationship between training loads, performance, and injury occurrences.
Dr. Jordan Milsom has work in elite football for 15 years, having worked at all tiers of professional English football. Presently, has holds the position of head of performance at Rangers FC, having joined in June 2018. Prior to this position, he spent 8 seasons as a rehabilitation fitness coach at Liverpool FC. It was here he completed his doctorate studies in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University. His doctorate studies centred on “Understanding Return to Play in Elite Football.” Previous clubs include Leicester City, Sheffield United and Oxford United.
Andrew Gray is a High Performance Manager, Innovator, Physiotherapist, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Sports Scientist and Software Developer with more than two decades of successful experience in professional sport. Andrew specializes in building and leading high performing teams as well as applying technology, data analytics and his extensive knowledge of human movement to create solutions that improve the management of elite performers. A strong believer in the power of relationships and continuous improvement being the foundations of success, Andrew is a highly skilled life-long learner who is committed to bringing out the best in others.
