Dr Paul Bradley is the author of the unique book ‘Football Decoded’, which was released in 2020. He is currently a Football Science Consultant for elite teams, national governing bodies and technology companies. He typically conducts translational work within an elite football setting that bridges the gap between cutting edge research and professional practice (e.g. not just research for research sake but work that adds value to the applied setting). One area he has pioneered recently is the contextualisation of match and training data and he is currently working with many elite organisations in this regard. He has published >80 papers and has >5000 citations in the science & football area.
René Hake is a professional football head coach who started his career as a youth coach at FC Emmen (1994-2005) before he left for the FC Twente/Heracles Almelo Football Academy.
In the 2010-11 season, René was appointed as the head coach of FC Emmen. In June 2012 he signed a two-year contract with PEC Zwolle for an assistant coach role under Ron Jans. In June 2015, he became an assistant coach at FC Twente, and after two months he was promoted to the head coach role. In season 2016-17 he helped the team to finish in 7th place in Eredivisie.
In 2019-20, René was the head coach of Jong FC Utrecht. After the departure of John van den Brom, he became the new head coach of FC Utrecht, helping the team to finish in 6th place in Eredivisie 2020-21 season.
Chris Loxston is the manager of performance and game analysis at FIFA based in Zurich, Switzerland. The recent integration of advanced performance data analytics and video analysis into FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) analysis of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia was the first step forward in driving a new approach through supporting expert tournament observations with advanced performance data analytics. FIFA’s TSG is responsible for the observation of all FIFA tournaments, both junior and senior across the men’s and women’s game. This analysis is then used to support and drive coach and player education and development around the world.
Chris started his career in sports performance analysis at the English Institute of Sport, where he supported British teams at the world, European and commonwealth tournaments along with the qualification to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and 2012 London Olympic Games. Chris then moved to Asia, where he implemented his performance analysis skillset within football working with both domestic and international football teams. Finally, before starting at FIFA in 2018, he supported the International Olympic Committee (IOC) with bespoke data analytics around injury occurrence hurt analysis within Olympic and world amateur boxing.
Jurrit Sanders currently works as Lead Academy Sport Scientist at PSV Eindhoven, where he started his career in 2015 after several internships in elite sports and gaining his master's degree in Human Movement Sciences at the VU University in Amsterdam. His main aim is to support the technical, medical, performance, and scouting staff in making (better) decisions with the help of data, research, and scientific knowledge.
Jurrit has obtained a special interest in growth and maturation and developed PSV's own growth model. In addition, he has worked as a researcher on cognitive skills in football and has developed PSV's own vision and training methods with regard to this topic.
Werner Helsen is a professor in the department of movement sciences at KU Leuven. His research interests include expert perception and performance, talent detection and selection (including relative age and late maturity effects), and load monitoring in team sports and association football particularly. As of September 2022, Google Scholar showed 11.751 citations, H-index=53, i10-index=115. His teaching involvements are in the motor control and learning field as well as in the area of performance training in team sports and football in particular. Since 1999, he has played a prominent role in UEFA as a sports scientist and training expert. Since 2015, UEFA has also engaged him in ‘Fitness4Football’ workshops to teach national team coaches how to use GPS-based technology to make players and the game better. He was involved in six UEFA European Championships and three FIFA World Cups. He also has extensive experience in the sport science support of youth academies, professional clubs, and national teams.
Lorihanna Shushkova is a tactical analyst/consultant with broad experience in the sports industry. Starting with a degree and a career in sports journalism, she has expanded her knowledge and expertise with a degree in marketing and advertising that has helped her in building a background in the betting industry and in sports data and technology. Moving towards her passion, tactics, she has contributed to developing Total Football Analysis, where she offers her consultancy services for the last three years. She also offers freelance consultancy services as a tactical analyst.
Marco Fumagalli is a product of the Royal Belgium Football Association´s finest coaches school. He worked in different roles such as tactical analyst, assistant coach, and head of scouting in international clubs such as Galatasaray S.K., FC Internazionale Milano, Valencia CF, Genoa CFC, and ACF Fiorentina with a particular focus on both data and the tactical aspect of the game.
Alex Calder is the Head of Sports Science with Houston Dynamo, competing in the Major League Soccer (MLS). He is an accredited Level 3-Elite Coach with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA), as well as holding accreditations through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). Having worked in a variety of sports, he has coached at different levels of competition worldwide for the past decade. He has published several articles in relation to physical preparation and analysis.
Nádima Skeff is the head coach at America Mg, competing in the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino A2. She is certified with level 2 in coaching football with the English Football Association (the FA) and currently pursuing her coaching license with CBF level B in Brazil. With experiences as a high-level player with the Brazil National U20 team and with the Danish league, she also played in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship in the USA while obtaining her master’s degree in kinesiology at Georgia Southern University. Her main aim is to collaborate with the growth of women's football, giving support to the players and the club while seeking to promote a higher level of playing and development conditions.
Stig is a Global Operations Lead for Double Pass. He has the UEFA A License as well as MSc. in Sport Science, and PgD in Football Business. He has experience in working with OHLeuven, Belgian Football Federation, SAFF, and UEFA. His work in Double Pass now includes projects with FIFA, Denmark DBU, Russia, Hungary MSLZ, Pakhtakor Tashkent, SC Internacional, UD Almeria, Vissel Kobe, SC Kitchee, and KRC Genk.
Álvaro is a scout with more than 10 years of experience at the professional level, working both for different football clubs and agencies. He has a degree in Journalism. Álvaro has made his first steps with FC Galatasaray, and now he is starting his fourth season with Real Betis Balompié.
Luke Theakston is a performance specialist who has worked at the highest level of senior and youth academy football in England (Reading FC and Portsmouth FC), Hungary (Újpest FC), the Netherlands (AFC Ajax and AFC) and China (Beijing Guoan FC). He holds a master’s degree in human movement science (VU, Amsterdam), a bachelor’s degree in sport science (University of Surrey), a diploma in football medicine (FIFA), and a UEFA football coaching license (the FA). Luke has developed a particular interest and expertise in football fitness, periodisation, testing and growth and maturation. He has also presented lectures on high-performance at a number of universities (Shanghai University of Sport and Beijing Sport University (BSU)) and is an active member of High Performance Group China. Luke is currently the head of academy performance at Beijing Guoan FC in the Chinese Super League (CSL).
Mathieu studied sports and science, gaining a PhD at the University of Bern (2019) with a main focus on the emergence of collective behaviours. Based on individual player interactions, he analysed the global spatiotemporal behaviour of the team in football. After this, he joined the Servette Football Club as a performance analyst. His current position involves analysing the performance of the team according to the philosophy of the club. With the help of event and positional data, he tries to create metrics to give objective feedback to the staff and illustrate with video. He is also responsible for the opponent analysis.
Luciano Cánepa is the leader of the scouting department and the analyst department at Aspire Academy. Currently, he is responsible for the recruitment of players for the Academy, which will later be projected to build up the U16, U19, and U23 Qatar National Teams.
Luciano has been working for the last decade as a first team scout at different clubs throughout Europe, including Manchester United, Benfica, and Lille. His latest achievement was graduating from UCAM with a master’s in sport big data.
Albin is a UEFA A and UEFA Elite Youth A licensed coach and has been coaching for several years. His experiences were not only on senior and elite youth level, but also on the professional level in Sweden with Gothenburg-based team GAIS, where he worked as an assistant coach and video analyst. Today, Albin is working in ex-Europa League club Östersunds FK as the U19 head coach. He finds a lot of joy and excitement in studying the tactical aspects of the game.
Fernando Sousa is currently collaborating with FootoVision to help this innovative startup reach the Elite Football players. Fernando is establishing the bridge between Federation, Leagues and Elite Clubs by connecting them with our technical stuff to help their transition to this new digital era and gain an edge over their competitors.
Fernando studied Applied Mathematics in Porto and started his career in IT applications business. He worked as an ERP and CRM consultant both in Portugal and Spain. Worked for IBM Spain and Portugal almost a decade and left to create and lead the B2B Division in Samsung Portugal. In 2013, he co-founded and headed Videobserver, a sports video analytics startup, that he left in 2018. He was an invited lecturer regarding Sports Performance Analysis in several Portuguese Universities.

David Robertson serves as the Girls Academy Director at Nationals, one of the United States’ best youth academies. Nationals has won seven national championships and produced players at the youth national, collegiate, and professional levels.
David holds the prestigious US Soccer A-Youth License, as well as the selective US Soccer Academy Director License. During this past cycle, he oversaw a program that finished with a national championship, three conference championships, three teams ranked #1 in the United States, and multiple players called into US National Team programming.

Paul Neilson is Director of Performance at SkillCorner, a football data and analytics company providing services to teams, federations, and media partners. An experienced football industry professional, Paul also holds non-executive director roles specialising at the intersection of software, data, analysis, and technology.
Originally joining Prozone Sports in 2008, Paul was an integral part of a leadership team that pioneered performance analysis in football, while achieving sustained international growth and profitability. Paul then transitioned to STATS following the acquisition of Prozone before joining Hudl, where he was responsible for football business development and strategy, culminating in the acquisition of Wyscout.
Paul’s experience spans a number of facets of the sports performance industry encompassing elite performance and coaching, applied sports science, data analytics, and technology development. He holds a PhD in sports technology from Loughborough University in the UK.
Maurici is a behavioral scientist specialized in Ecological Physics and PhD at the University of Connecticut (UConn).
His work combines a rather practice-oriented approach into science and football. While certain aspects of the game are believed to be purely qualitative, his research focuses on formalizing the physical and systemic nature to quantify those principles underlying the game. Our ultimate goal is to push forward a principled theory of the game of soccer from where research inquires, and coaching insights can be guided from a common framework.
Maurici is experienced in research consultant for different soccer clubs and sport science institutions at large. Among others, Futbol Cub Barcelona, AIK Fotboll, the Simulation, Training, Analytics and Rehabilitation (STAR) Heel Performance Laboratory at the University of North Carolina or the Center for the Ecological Study of Perception and Action at UConn.
