Werner Helsen is a professor in the department of movement sciences at KU Leuven. His research interests include expert perception and performance, talent detection and selection (including relative age and late maturity effects), and load monitoring in team sports and association football particularly. As of September 2022, Google Scholar showed 11.751 citations, H-index=53, i10-index=115. His teaching involvements are in the motor control and learning field as well as in the area of performance training in team sports and football in particular. Since 1999, he has played a prominent role in UEFA as a sports scientist and training expert. Since 2015, UEFA has also engaged him in ‘Fitness4Football’ workshops to teach national team coaches how to use GPS-based technology to make players and the game better. He was involved in six UEFA European Championships and three FIFA World Cups. He also has extensive experience in the sport science support of youth academies, professional clubs, and national teams.
Matthew Brown is currently a sport scientist for the Scottish Football Association and Playermaker, where his roles involve the physical preparation, development, and monitoring of football players, as well as the opportunity to perform research studies investigating a wide range of athlete performance monitoring and talent ID research areas of interest. Previously, he was a sport scientist with the first team and academy of Paris Saint Germain football club. There, he also studied for a PhD exploring the 'In situ implementation of muscle architecture screening and exoskeleton loading to individualize football player posterior chain strength training programs'. Currently, he has a keen interest in using the longitudinal tracking of football locomotor and technical outputs of academy football players during training and matches with an aim to use this data within a talent identification tool.
Aysel Uckan has a BSc in sports and exercise science and an MSc in sports and exercise science & medicine. She started her career at Galatasaray FC, then moved to FC Barcelona, and for the last two years she's been responsible for investigation and club methodologies in the Mexican Football Federation, CITEC, and Wimu. Her main duties include data analysis for helping the coaches through the decision-making process and the education of the athletic performance coaches in sports technologies. She is passionate about preventing injuries and maximising performance in elite sports with the help of sports technologies.
After his career as a competitive athlete, Florian Blüchel started his first employment in football in 2010 for Bayern Munich in the recently founded department of match analysis.
After various roles in the academy and the first team, he moved to the technical direction in 2015, initially in charge of video and data matters.
As a result of the reorganisation of the scouting department in 2017, Florian subsequently held the position of international scout, focussing mainly on the Spanish and Italian markets.
Since October 2021, the 38-year-old has been offering his football expertise to FC Arsenal as a first-team scout in Germany.
Starting out as a small blog writer, the 40-year-old Florian Zenger has within the span of 15 years become a freelance journalist writing for several media companies in Bavaria.
His work focusses heavily on narrative data use in football writing and player evaluation, and he has weekly columns previewing and analysing matches.
Over the summer he writes an extensive preview and review column about second tier German football. Additionally, he is an adviser to several coaches and teaches high school English.
Andrea Riboli is a physical performance coach, applied sport scientist, and consultant experienced with both youth and adult elite football players. He holds a PhD in sport sciences and he is an adjunct professor in performance analysis at the University of Milan. After gaining experience as an exercise physiologist at different levels of competition and the position of head of performance in professional women’ basketball, he got experience as a physical performance coach in Como FC, AC Milan, and Atalanta BC academies. From 2014-20, he held the position of first team physical performance coach at Atalanta BC, where he was in charge of the sport science department of the club. He published papers in sport science and medicine peer-review international journals and he is currently leading research and consulting projects about high-performance development in elite football players.
Gabriele Boccolini currently works as fitness coach at Atalanta BC. His main aim is to work as a rehab coach with injured players and to support the performance staff. He has held this role since July 2017, and was previously employed as a fitness coach of U17 at the club for six seasons. He holds a PhD in sport sciences at the University of Milan. He is passionate about cognitive skills and he published a book on mirror neurons and football training.
Riccardo Laborante has a degree in sports science from the University of Genoa as well as several master's in physical training of individual and team sports. He has the FIGC athletic trainer license, and he is a certified strength and conditioning specialist of NSCA and EXOS performed certified.
Lukasz Pachelski is a coordinator of the analysis department at Legia Warszawa and analyst coach for the Polish U-20 National Team. He has a UEFA A license with many years of experience working at the youth and senior levels, he's a lecturer at trainings and conferences, and has written many articles.
Lukasz is passionate about the subject of leadership and football tactics. He's also a husband and dad of three children.
Currently, Ian Coll is head of fitness at Hajduk Split in the Croatian First League. This is his 16th season in professional football; previously he worked for Celtic Football Club, UAE Football Federation, Ludogorets Razgrad, and Universitatea Craiova.
Ian has recently completed his UEFA B Licence, started his UEFA A Licence, and he's currently doing his master's course in tactical periodisation with Vitor Frade.
His passion is football methodology and its integration to the football team and players to enhance the current team’s game model as well as the individual player’s ability.
Michael Brown currently works as head of physical performance at Norwegian champions FK Bodø/Glimt. He has held this role since July 2019 and was previously employed as the head of physiotherapy at the club.
He is a PhD student with master's degrees in injury advanced rehabilitation sciences and a further MSc in physiotherapy. His research interests include training load with a focus on the importance of high intensity actions in soccer.
Claude Van Acker is the head of scouting for 366 degrees. His previous experience includes head of youth scouting for RSC Anderlecht (2019-22), head of youth scouting for the national youth teams of Belgium (2016-18), coach for national youth teams of Belgium U15-U17 (2012-16) as well as coach for U17-U19 at Zulte-Waregem (2008-12).
Gleb Platov started his career with FC Dynamo Kyiv at the age of 22. He has been a youth coach, as well as an analyst for the first team with Serhiy Rebrov as a head coach. Gleb also used to work within the Aspire Academy, where he was responsible for the methodology development and U15-U16 youth teams. He received his UEFA PRO diploma at the age of 28. He also launched PASS - an innovative educational project and developed an AI performing qualitative game analysis. For now, Gleb also works as a technical director for SC Dnipro-1, where he has taken over all the football management matters of the club.
Rob Anderson is a consultation sports scientist at SonicBone, an Israeli-based company whose mission is to enhance the identification and development of the next generation of athletes in all sports sectors, while enhancing wellbeing by reducing injury risks. Rob specialises in coaching youth athletes. He previously worked in the Scottish Rugby Academy for five years, leading programs across two regions as well as the U16, U17, and U18 national squads. He is also the founder of Athletic Evolution, which he created to provide best practice in the athletic development and coaching of young athletes. He recently left Scottish Rugby to focus on his work in the private sector. Rob is a regional affiliate of LTAD Network and the host of the LTAD Network Podcast. He has also previously presented for the UKSCA, LTAD Network, Indigo Fitness, Perform Better, and Jersey Sport Foundation, among others.
Patrick Hogan is a graduate of the sport and exercise sciences program at the University of Limerick. He currently is a senior sports scientist at STATSports, a global leader in athletic performance monitoring technology. Patrick provides support and consultancy to many of STATSports' key clients with a particular focus on real-time data application. He has also worked directly with multiple Irish GAA teams.
David László is working currently with the Hungarian Football Federation as an analyst. Previously he gained experience in establishing an analytics department in academy settings and at a Hungarian first division club as well. These experiences shaped his views on club development and on leadership values especially on the importance of long-term planning and the role of data in decision-making.
